Deborah Hughes, PsyD
Deborah Hughes is a clinical psychologist who graduated from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2005. She received her certification in neuro-psychology in 2009. Neuro-psychological assessments consider functioning in different parts of the brain and how problems in those areas can effect daily living. These sort of assessments are useful in a variety of circumstances including: head trauma, learning disabilities, and developmental problems. She also has training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), which is a technique used with those that have suffered trauma. Furthermore, she has additional training in GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender) issues. In the past, she has a worked a lot with chronic mental illness. Deborah joined the Manakai O Malama team in 2010, and looks forward to providing meaningful assesments to our patients in need.
